Before I officially moved into SpecSO’s place, I figured I would make a list of goals.  These will help to keep me from feeling utterly overwhelmed and directionless in this new adventure. Some are hidden because of their ::ahem:: personal nature.  I’ll use 4/1/12 as the arbitrary start date, meaning that the finish date will be: 1/19/15.

I – Beer
1 – brand Zankapfel Brewing
2 – brew at least 10 beers where 50%+ of the ingredients are organic
3 – make a GOOD gluten-free beer
4 – procure brewgear for 5 gallon system
5 – procure brewgear for 10+ gallon system
6 – procure brewgear for all grain system
7 – have the ability/gear to lager
8 – have the ability/gear to keg
9 – make a GOOD Lavender Pepper Saison
10 – make the Hipster Juice
11 – make a beer w Ghost Peppers
12 – make a beer w hop alternatives (ie: yarrow, spruce tips)
13 – develop a GOOD ‘heavy-weissen’ recipe
14 – develop 3 other GOOD sessionable recipes (<4.5% abv)
15 – develop 3 other GOOD recipes w unique ingrediants/flavor profiles
16 – develop 3 other GOOD high-grav recipes (8%+ ABV)
17 – make+keg a hipster juice for a party
18 – successfully grow my own hops ( at least 8 oz in a year)
19 – apprentice @ a brewery
20 – attend a national beer blogger/professional conference/event

4 – make my own bread (don’t buy any) for 3 months
5 – grow and harvest 20 different vegetables/herbs (23+ in the ground/20)
6 – expand to small-scale lavender production (2 types in garden this year)
7 – learn how to graft trees
8 – learn how to harvest bees
9 – forage for (and find and prepare) 5 different types of plants
10 – learn to clean fish
11 – learn to clean small game
12 – learn to clean poultry

VI – Personal fitness
1 – 2012 goal – locamote 500 miles (163.7/500)
2 – try 4 different classes at the NB yoga studio (1/4)
3 – try cross country skiing
4 – go downhill skiing again
5 – roll a kayak
6 – get kayaking gear
7 – bike the length of the Rail Trail
8 – run the length of the Rail Trail
9 – complete 2 half marathons (or greater or tri/bi/other equivilent) per year (2012: Covenant Marathon, Hyner View, 2013, 2014)
10 – complete a 2+day hiking trip
11 – do an 8+ mile run at least 1x a week for 5 weeks in a row
12 – be able to climb a rope to a height of ~8ft
13 – explore roller derby once I get health insurance

15 – get good enough at poi to teach

XI – Thesis/Monograph
1 – label all artifacts properly
